Bat Formations

Below the towering treetops and beneath some of the largest cave
openings in the world lies Mulu. A world heritage site that boasts
some of the wildest rainforests on earth.

Being woken up to the sounds of the jungle is a feeling one cannot
describe, however, every nature lover and explorer should experience.
The jungles of Mulu are home to some very interesting plants as well
as insects, one, in particular, the Mulu Lanternfly. An oddly looking
insect at first glance, but rather interesting to look at when you
take notice of the stunning patterns and colours on its wings.

The natural occurrence that happens within the caves of Mulu is the bat
exodus, this image is a beautiful reminder of the millions of bats that
flew from the caves, creating a spectacular showing of various shapes
and formations within the stormy skies above.
