Travel across India's breathtaking Bandhavgarh.

Through April and March next year I am guiding a group of up to 6 fellow photographers through the amazing Bandhavgarh National Park in India.

This will be an experience of a lifetime as we travel through the rocky terrains, grassland swamps and forested valleys in search of the Bengal Tigers with safari footprints.

Keep a lookout for the Hanuman Langurs!

The details.

Bandhavgarh National Park is known for it’s Royal Bengal Tigers. This national park is home to the highest density of Tigers known in India and was a former hunting preserve for the Maharaja of Rewa. White Tigers, now a major attraction in many zoos, were first discovered not far from Bandhavgarh.

The wide valleys along the streams feature long, linear grasslands flanked by sal forests. These, together, provide Bandhavgarh with its rich diversity and is home to almost 25 different species of mammals.

Species found in Bandhavgarh: Leopards, Bengal Tigers, Wolves, Wild dogs, Sloth bears and many more.

Bandhavgarh provides these Tigers with excellent habitats and is known for having the highest density of Tigers in the world. Some of the most well known Tigers have been viewed on the BBC and National Geographic documentaries.

Explore the magical diversity of the landscape.

Equipment

Here I have listed the recommended equipment to make the most out of your time in the national park of Bandhavgarh.

* For photographing the tigers a 500mm or 300mm prime lens with converters would be ideal. A shorter zoom such as a 70-200 would also be a great option in capturing more environmental images of the Tigers.

* Bring along enough spare camera batteries and sd cards for the duration of the game drives.

* If you have a pair of binoculars, these would be a valuable tool also.

* I would also recommend bringing along a lens bean bag to use as a camera support.

Fitness Level

This trip requires a low to moderate level of fitness as most of your time will be spent on the game drives.
